UG Honours Programme: Training for Teachers Begins

Mahatma Gandhi University  commenced regional training sessions for college teachers on April 15th as part of the preparations to begin undergraduate honours programmes for the next academic year. The training for the first batch of teachers took place at Catholicate College, Pathanamthitta, Morning Star Home Science College, Angamaly, and Kristu Jyoti College, Changanassery. The training for the next two batches will be held on the 17th and 19th of April, with a total of 1,200 individuals expected to receive training.

These sessions provide guidance on the necessary preparations and arrangements colleges must undertake for the initiation of the Honours Programmes, including establishing advisory committees. The training programme for college principals and nodal officers has already been completed.

Dr. Biju Pushpan, the Syndicate member and Chairman of the Executive Committee for the Undergraduate Honours Programmes, mentioned that the Principal, Nodal officer, and five newly trained teachers at each college will be responsible for training other teachers. This programme aims to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement among educators, ultimately benefitting students and the entire educational community, he added.
