Prof. Sabu Thomas, former Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University and a distinguished figure in the fields of Nanoscience, Polymer Science, and Engineering, has been honoured with the prestigious Modern Plastics Award 2024.This renowned award, widely considered to be the pinnacle of recognition in the Indian plastics industry, celebrates the achievements of veterans and innovators whose impact on the sector has been unparalleled. Prof. Thomas received the Lifetime achievement award from the illustrious Professor Dr. Padma Vibhushan R.A. Mashelkar at an opulent ceremony held at Taj Lands End, Bandra, Mumbai.

Prof. Sabu Thomas is currently serving as the Director of the International and Inter University Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. Additionally, he chairs the Trivandrum Engineering Science and Technology Research Park (TrEST Research Park) , Kerala.
