Innovation Incubation & Startups

Mahatma Gandhi University established the Business Innovation and Incubation Centre (BIIC) in 2016, with the seed capital of Rupees 1 crore from the Government of Kerala to foster a vibrant innovation system and a better University-Industry linkage. The BIIC aims to promote innovation and entrepreneurship by extending administrative, academic and incubation support to innovators. The centre synergizes the triadic relationship of University- Industry-Government for establishing an innovation ecosystem. BIIC also aids students to translate their business ideas and concepts into services and products as per the market demand by supporting the various stages in the ideational to start-up/market phase. To strengthen the successful establishment of startups and entrepreneurship, BIIC has already approved startup policy, incubation and IPR facility and networking with academic and industrial mentors. BIIC also provides a dynamic platform for industry – academia linkage through MoUs and technology transfer.
