Library

Established in 1989, the University Library serves a vital role in assisting the academic endeavours of students, research scholars and faculty. The Library offers access to books, online databases, e-books, and other digital resources. It provides tranquil spaces for individual study and areas for group discussions, fostering an atmosphere conducive to focused work and collaborative project.

Mahatma Gandhi University Library offers the following services to the academic community:

The Library is a member of the INFLIBNET Centre, Ahmedabad, an Inter-University Centre of the University Grants Commission and the DELNET (Developing Library Network). As a member of these networks, the Library provides its users access to the resources of other major libraries in the country. The University Library has automated the activities using the library automation package Koha.

Through the e-ShodhSindhu consortium, the library has access to over 3121 e-journals and databases, including ISID and Web of Science, and through the Kerala State Higher Education Council consortium, there is access to Science Direct and SCOPUS . The library also has access to major online databases, such as EBSCO Academic Search Premier, Empire Online, EPWRF India Time Series, India Business Insight, Indiastat, Manupatra, ProwessIQ, SCC Online, SciFinder-n-CAS etc.

Mahatma Gandhi University Library won the State IT Award in 2009 for its enormous strides in the e-learning category for its University Online Theses Digital Library.
