Mahatma Gandhi University hosted a three-day international workshop focusing on recent advancements in cancer nanotechnology.
Organised from October 8 to 10 under the leadership of the International and Inter-University Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, the workshop was part of a research project under the Union Government’s SPARC scheme.
The workshop explored new possibilities of nanotechnology in cancer prevention and diagnosis, bringing together leading global scientists, researchers, and students.
On October 8, the workshop was jointly inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Sabu Thomas, former Vice-Chancellor and renowned scientist in the field of nanotechnology, and Prof. Samuel Oluwatobi Oluwafemi from the Department of Chemical Sciences at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Syndicate Member Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Komath, School of Nano Science and Nanotechnology Joint Director Dr. Sreekala M.S., School of Polymer Science and Technology faculty Dr. Aji M.N., School of Nano Science and Nanotechnology faculty members Dr. Raji V. and Dr. Joshi K.S., and School of Pure and Applied Physics Assistant Professor Dr. Pramod K. participated in the event.
Awards for the best poster and best presentation were selected from the research works presented at the workshop. Nano art and nano innovation competitions were also held as part of the event. Prizes were distributed to the winners at the closing ceremony held on October 10.
