“The Honours Degree Programmes started by the Affiliated Colleges across the state are opening doors to wide opportunities for the students”, Mahatma Gandhi University Vice-Chancellor, Dr. C.T Aravindakumar emphasised, during the inauguration of the 4+1 Programmes at the University campus.
The newly introduced programmes have been designed to substantially enhance students’ knowledge and skills upon completion of the studies.The 4+1 Programmes will feature an exclusive learning environment and students will have access to world-class facilities and the expertise of accomplished faculty members, he added.
The inauguration of the Programmes at the University took place after the live broadcast of the state-level inauguration. The ceremony, held in the auditorium of the School of Chemical Sciences, was presided over by Registrar, Dr. K. Jayachandran. Dr. P.P. Naushad, Director of the School of Gandhian Thought and Development Studies, provided an overview of the programmes. Dr. P. Biju, Director of the College Development Council, introduced the University to the newcomers.Navakerala Post Doctoral Fellow, Smita, and Ratnasree led the Gandhi Smriti.
District Panchayat member, Dr. Rosamma Sony, Block Panchayat Member, James Kurian, Athirampuzha Gram Panchayat President, Jose Ambalakulam, Honours Degree Programme Executive Committee Convenor and Syndicate Member, Dr. Biju Pushpan, Controller of Examinations, Dr. C.M Sreejit, Finance Officer, Biju Mathew, Graduate School Joint Directors, Dr. Silpa Satheesh, Dr. P. Abdul Jabbar, Dr. Aparna Eswaran, Public Representatives, Members of Academic Monitoring Committee, Departmental Nodal Officers, etc. were present.
