Conventional plant growth chambers, essential for replicating ideal growing conditions, often exceed one lakh rupees in price. In contrast, Agrowtein Labs has successfully designed two models: an advanced chamber priced at 60,000 rupees and a semi-advanced chamber priced at 40,000 rupees.
These chambers were developed for the University’s Advanced Centre for Environmental Science and Sustainable Development. Praveen Aloysius, CEO of Agrowtein Labs, has announced plans to produce these chambers on a commercial basis.
Additionally, the startup produces high-end equipment and systems for farmers utilising modern agricultural methods. More details can be found on their website (www.agrowtein.com).
The Business Innovation and Incubation Centre (BIIC) at Mahatma Gandhi University was established in December 2016 to promote innovation and entrepreneurial culture among students. BIIC provides administrative, academic, technical, and IP support to innovators, along with industrial exposure in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Currently, 34 startups, including those on the University campus and on a virtual platform, are functioning with the support of the Centre.
