A virtual laboratory is a computer-based activity in which students participate with a scientific instrument or other activity through a computer interface. While it lacks the physical and tangible elements of a typical laboratory, it does have benefits like accessibility, safety, and the capacity to readily reproduce experiments. It provides a unique and useful platform for learning and exploration. It provides the opportunity to understand concepts beyond the constraints of a physical laboratory.
A comprehensive learning platform based on virtual labs improves their utility. Providing options such as supplementary web resources, video lectures, animated demonstrations, and self-assessment modules gives a more comprehensive learning experience. This integration stretches beyond the experimental component, enriching the understanding of complex concepts.
