Saranya Sasidharan (FISAT, Angamaly), the MG Youth Fest Kalathilakam of 2012 and First prize winner in Classical Dance in National Inter University Youth Festival held at RTMN Univeristy, Nagpur 2012 represented Mahatma Gandhi University in the prestigious South Asian Universities Youth Festival SAUFEST 2013 organized by Association of Indian Universities at Punjabi University, Patiala.
In 2012-13, the Department conducted a competition for Best College Magazine published during the academic year 2011-12 in the affiliated colleges. Winners were awarded merit certificates and mementos.
The winners in South Zone Inter University Youth Festival 2012-13 held at Gulbarga University, Karnataka and National Inter University Youth Festival 2012-13 held at University of Kalyani, were felicitated in a function held at University Campus in March 2013. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. A.V. George gave cash award to Cratto Tony (Marian College, Kuttikkanam), Ms. Pranavia Prathap (St. Joseph’s College of Teacher Education, Pala), Anu Venugopal, Anoop A.V (RLV College of Music & Fine Arts, Tripunithura), Sarath H. (MES College of Advanced Studies, Edathala), Vidhunkumar (MBC College of Engineering, Peerumedu), Manu G. Krishnan (Sree Sankara College, Kalady), and Ms. Ashly Thomas (Alphonsa College, Pala). A memento has been given to Ms. Saranya Sasidharan (Participant in South Asian Universities Youth Festival) on this occasion.
