C.H.Mohammed Koya Chair was instituted in the University in the year 2013 . The chair is dedicated to the memory of C.H. Mohammed Koya, a renowned administrator and a progressive visionary who served as the Minister of the State Cabinet for several years. Born in 1927, he served as the 8th Chief Minister of Kerala, from October to December 1979. He held various key positions, including the Minister of Education, championing the progress of backward classes in northern Kerala. He also served as the Home Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister of Kerala.
Through his administrative acumen and foresight, Koya made significant contributions to the state’s education sector. His legacy extends beyond politics; he was a respected orator and author, who wrote extensively on diverse topics.
