SWAYAM stands for “Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds.” It is a programme started by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, to offer online courses to learners across India. The aim of this programme is to bridge the digital divide for students who have hitherto remained untouched by the digital revolution and have not been able to join the mainstream of the knowledge economy.
To ensure the quality of content, SWAYAM has nine National Coordinators: AICTE for self-paced courses, NPTEL for engineering, UGC for post-graduation education, CEC for under-graduate education, NCERT & NIOS for school education, IGNOU for out of the school students and, IIMB for management studies
SWAYAM is one of the major platforms on which IIMB offers courses. IIMBx offered 17 unique courses and nine re-run courses to date. Apart from this, the institute conducted exams for 14 courses and issued certificates to over 300 students.
The IIMB courses on SWAYAM includes a combination of various learning components such as video lectures, interview videos, text components, reading materials and self-assessment ungraded questions.
Almost all IIMBx courses offered on edX and IIMBx platforms are also available on the SWAYAM platforms. Learners can register here.
