Research Fellows required for MGU

The recently launched Interuniversity Centre for Social Science Research and Extension (IUCSSRE) set up by Mahatma GandhiUniversity, Kottayam with the financial support of Kerala Higher Education Department has invited applications from qualified candidates for contract appointment to the posts of Associate Fellow, Assistant Fellow, Field Research Assistant and Research Assistant.
Candidates who have PhD with specialization in Praxis Intervention or Social Theory and a Master’s in Social Work or                Sociology and age below 45 years can apply for the post of Associate Fellow. The Fellow will be required to coordinate                the praxis component in both the Centre for Gender Studies and Women Empowerment and the Centre for Human                      Geography-Human Ecology. The fellow will receive a consolidated monthly pay of Rs. 40,000.

For the post of Assistant Fellow in Gender Studies Candidates with a PhD in Gender Studies, Feminist Theory and with extensive field experience for the Centre for Gender Studies and Women Empowerment, below the age of 45 years, are preferred. The fellow will be required to plan and offer academic courses in Gender Studies and initiate training programmes for policy makers and women entrepreneurs. The fellow will receive a consolidated monthly pay of Rs. 30,000.

For Assistant Fellow in Human Geography/Human Ecology post, candidates preferably with a PhD in Human Geography, Human Ecology and with research experience in landscape studies or environmental studies for the Centre for Human Geography-Human Ecology, below the age of 40 years can apply. The fellow will be required to plan and offer academic courses in Human Ecology and Human Geography. The fellow will receive a consolidated monthly pay of Rs. 30,000. For the above-mentioned posts the appointment will be for a period of one year in the first instance, extendable to an additional two years, subject to evaluation.

For the posts of Field Assistant in Human Ecology/Human Geography, candidates with an M.Phil in Human Ecology or Human Geography are eligible to apply. Candidates with an MPhil in Social Sciences or Gender Studies with specialization in Feminist Theory can apply for the post of Research Assistant in Gender Studies. Selected candidates will get a monthly stipend equivalent to UGC-JRF in both cases.
