
SKILL CONNECT 2026 , an Industry-Academia Convergence for future-ready talent concluded at Mahatma Gandhi University. The programme under the Vijnana Keralam, popular campaign of the Government of Kerala, was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. C.T. Aravindakumar at the University Assembly Hall on 21 January 2026. The Vice Chancellor called upon the student community for attaining skills to cope with the challenges of the new world.
The meeting was presided over by Dr.P.V.Unnikrishnan, Member Secretary,K-DISC.
Former Finance Minister and Chief Advisor to Vijnana Keralam, Dr. T. M.Thomas Issac, in his keynote address , noted that Kerala is performing well in all development indices and the unemployment rate in the State is coming down considerably. He also stated that knowledge- economy is the answer to unemployment. Dr.Thomas Issac lauded universities in Kerala especially Mahatma Gandhi University for attaining high rankings in TIMES, NIRF and UGC Category 1 Status.
Over 1200 students and teachers from affiliated colleges, University Schools and Departments took part in the two day conclave , which was conducted across six venues in the campus.
