Prof. Rohan D’Souza’s lecture at SGTDS

Professor Rohan D’Souza from the Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies at Kyoto University, Japan, will deliver a lecture titled “In the age of artificial intelligence and powerful internet search engines do we still need PhDs in the Social Sciences and the Humanities?” on November 14  at  Mahatma Gandhi University.

Organised by the Centre for Technology and Developmental Studies, the lecture will examine crucial questions about the relevance of doctoral education in social sciences and humanities amidst rapid technological advancements and the emergence of the ‘Second Machine Age.’ Professor D’Souza will discuss the future of public research universities and their role in an increasingly AI-driven world.The lecture is scheduled for 2:30 pm at the School of Gandhian Thought and Developmental Studies.
