A one-day orientation programme for international students admitted for the 2026–27 academic year was organised at Mahatma Gandhi University under the aegis of the University Centre for International Co-operation (UCIC).

University Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Binu George Varghese inaugurated the event. In his inaugural address, he stated that the university prioritises the needs of foreign students. Controller of Examinations Prof. (Dr.) C.M. Sreejith offered felicitations and explained the university’s curriculum and examination system.

Special sessions covering legal procedures and visa regulations for international students were conducted. Along with subject experts, UCIC Honorary Director Prof. (Dr.) Sajimon Abraham, Dr. Tony K. Thomas, Prof. (Dr.) Sajna Jaleel, and Dr. Biju M.K. led sessions on various topics.

This year, 55 students from Africa, Asia, and Europe have secured admission across university departments and affiliated colleges.
