Mahatma Gandhi University has received the prestigious “Minister’s Excellence Award” for its brilliance in the field of higher education. The award was presented to Vice-Chancellor Dr C. T. Aravindakumar by the Minister for Higher Education Dr.R.Bindu at a function held in Thiruvananthapuram.
Members of the Syndicate Shri.Harikrishnan P.,Shri.Arun K.Saseendran, Registrar Dr Bismi Gopalakrishnan and Director I.Q.A.C Dr.Johney Johnson were present on the occasion .
The University, which has already achieved notable recognition at the national and international level in academics and research, also leads in socially relevant research which helped it to achieve higher accreditations and rankings. Mahatma Gandhi University with NAAC A++ accreditation and CGPA of 3.61 in the fourth cycle of reaccreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has also achieved higher positions in NIRF rankings.
It has also been granted Category 1 status by the University Grants Commission (UGC), marking a significant milestone in its academic journey. This elite recognition granted extensive autonomy to launch new initiatives and establish institutions without prior UGC approval, making it the first university in the state to achieve this distinction.
The university earned Category 1 status based on its A++ grade and CGPA of 3.61 in the fourth cycle of reaccreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), as well as its consistent ranking in the Times Higher Education global rankings.
