Mahatma Gandhi University emerged as the champions in the All India Inter University Men’s Handball Championship held at Sacred Heart College, Thevara. They secured victory over Periyar University, Tamil Nadu, in the final with a score of 34-28. Punjab University defeated Calicut University in the losers’ final.
Dr. C.T. Aravindakumar, the Vice Chancellor of MG University, presented the prizes during the valedictory function. Other dignitaries present included Dr. K.M. Sudhakaran, the Syndicate member, Fr. Varghese Kachappilly, College Manager, Dr. Binu George Varghese, Director of MG University School of Physical Education and Sports, Fr. Sebastian John, Dr. Sandeep Sunny, Dr. K.M. Thomas and Dr. Ajith Mohan.
