MGU Ranks Third in India in Times Higher Education’s Asia University Ranking

Mahatma Gandhi University has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing the third position in India in this year’s Asia University Ranking by Britain’s Times Higher Education. Topping the list are the Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru and Anna University in Tamil Nadu, respectively, while MGU, having previously held the fourth position, has ascended in rank.
 
China’s Tsinghua University and Peking University continue to dominate the top spots for the fifth consecutive year among the Asian universities. MGU proudly holds the 134th position in this esteemed list, making it one of the five Indian universities within the top 150. Notably, MGU stands as the sole representative from Kerala, adding to its distinction.
 
The ranking methodology, evaluating 18 indicators spanning teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook, underscores MGU’s comprehensive excellence.
 
In light of MGU’s outstanding performance in the fourth stage of re-accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), attaining a double plus grade, the University’s Vice Chancellor, Dr. C. T. Arvindakumar, expressed profound pride in securing the third position in India within the Asian ranking.
