Mahatma Gandhi University’s Innovative Model Gains Prominence in Keraleeyam

The Mahatma Gandhi University’s presentation on the conversion of academic and research ventures into startups has garnered attention in the ‘Keraleeyam’ programme held in Thiruvananthapuram. This presentation took place during a micro-event organised by the Higher Education Department at the University College, Thiruvananthapuram.

Dr. Santhosh Thampi, the Director of the School of Management and Business Studies and Dr. Radhakrishnan E.K, the Director of the Business Innovation and Incubation Centre at MGU, delivered the presentation and emphasised the University’s alignment with state government initiatives aimed at fostering a knowledge economy in response to global changes.

The University is actively facilitating the transition of students and researchers across various departments into entrepreneurs through skill development programmes. This enables them to transfer their research findings to business entrepreneurs. Additionally, the University has granted teachers permission to initiate startups without compromising their academic commitments, they added.
