Five students represent MGU at Indian Youth Parliament

A group of five students from the Institute for Multidisciplinary Programmes in Social Sciences at Mahatma Gandhi University participated in the Indian Youth Parliament held in Jaipur from September 15 to 17.

The students – Aiden George, S. Advaitha, Hashim Shahid, Vijay Shankar, and Abhinav B. George – were accompanied by two faculty members, Dr. Bijulal M.V. and Gowri O.A. A total of 120 students selected from various states participated in the programme, which had the theme “Empowering the Next Generation.” The focus was on the role of youth in advancing democracy and ensuring that their voices are included in decisions that profoundly impact their world.

The MGU students stated that it was an opportunity to interact with parliamentarians and understand the importance of open debate and consensus in sustaining a democratic system.
