Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, and the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), New Delhi, have agreed to collaborate on studies related to international issues and India’s foreign policy. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Vijay Thakur Singh , ICWA Director General and Prof. K. Jayachandran, Registrar, M G University, on 10th May 2024 ,which will be valid for a period of three years.
The alliance aims to organise joint studies through mutually agreed modalities on issues of common interest, seminars, and other related activities, and also intends to provide internship opportunities at ICWA for students from Mahatma Gandhi University.
The ICWA is the first institution in the country established for independent studies and evaluations related to international issues.This autonomous organisation operates with financial support from the Ministry of External Affairs and is headed by the Hon’ble Vice President of the Republic of India. The current President of ICWA is Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Dr. Jojin V. John, the MoU Coordinator, stated that the collaboration with ICWA would be highly beneficial for the undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programmes at the School of International Relations and Politics in the University.
