Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Kerala’s only UGC Category-1 university, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai — another UGC Category-1 university — for collaborative research in the field of bioenergy.
The MoU was formally exchanged on October 13 at ICT’s Mumbai campus, in the presence of ICT Vice Chancellor Prof. Aniruddha Balachandra Pandit. Representing Mahatma Gandhi University were Prof. Dr. Radhakrishnan E.K. and Ebin John Varghese from the School of Biosciences, while ICT was represented by Dr. Manish Yadav.
As part of the agreement, the two universities will collaborate on research related to bioenergy, waste management, development of value-added products from waste, cultivation and processing of water hyacinth, and the development of machinery tailored to industrial needs. The partnership will also enable research scholars to work jointly with ICT on the development of advanced technologies.
