M G University to host International Conference on Sustainable Future

Mahatma Gandhi University is hosting a three-day international conference titled “Towards a Sustainable Future: Scientists and Sages Meet” from 6th to 8th October 2025. The conference coincides with significant milestones including the 42nd anniversary of the founding of Mahatma Gandhi University, 100 years of Mahatma Gandhi’s visit to Kerala in 1925, and the 156th birth anniversary of the father of the Nation, said Dr.P.P. Noushad at a press conference in Kottayam .
 
Giving details of the event he said, it is being organized under the Dr. Paulos Mar Gregorios Chair, in collaboration with the School of Gandhian Thought and Development Studies (SGTDS) and the School of Environmental Sciences (SES).
 
The conference will be inaugurated by Hon.Vice Chancellor Dr.C.T.Aravindakumar on Monday, 6th October at 10 AM at Convergence Academia Complex. The deliberations on the next two days will be held at Casa Maria Centre, Peroor.
 
The three-day event aims to bring together scientists, philosophers, artists, writers, research scholars, students, and environmental activists to explore ways of ensuring a just, peaceful, and sustainable future. Topics of discussion will range from Gandhian philosophy and eco-spirituality to technological advancements, climate change, and sustainable development.
Fr.Dr.K.M.George, Chairprofessor, Paulos Mar Gregorios Chair,Dr.Rajesh Mani, Conference Co-ordinator and Dr.Cherian eapen also spoke on the occasion.
