The NSS unit of Idukki Balagram Jawaharlal Nehru College won the award for the best short film at the Rain International Nature Film Festival held in Kattappana. Tripunithura RLV College and Thodupuzha Al-Azhar College received special awards.
The festival was organised jointly by Birds International and the Mahatma Gandhi University National Service Scheme, with the support of the Kattappana Rotary Club and the Jayaraj Foundation. The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Dr. C.T. Aravindakumar, inaugurated the event.
Around 20 films focusing on nature conservation were showcased at the festival. Short films and documentaries prepared by school and college students on the same theme were also screened. Seminars, a nature photography exhibition, and a camera exhibition were also held as part of the festival.
