The School of Indian Legal Thought (SILT) at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala invites original and unpublished manuscripts for the 20th Volume (2026) of the Journal of Indian Legal Thought (JILT).
Published since 2003, the Journal of Indian Legal Thought (ISSN: 2249-9989) is a double-blind peer-reviewed law journal and is included in the UGC CARE List. The Journal aims to promote systematic research and the study of law through innovative, interdisciplinary, and critical approaches. As a flagship publication of the School of Indian Legal Thought, JILT provides a distinguished platform for advancing legal scholarship by encouraging high-quality contributions from academicians, researchers, legal practitioners, and law students.
Categories of Submission
- Research Articles: 7,000–12,000 words (including footnotes)
- Case Notes & Legislative Comments: 1,500–3,000 words (including footnotes)
- Book Reviews: 1,500–3,000 words (including footnotes)
Authors are requested to comply with the following guidelines:
- Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.
- Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, with 1.5 line spacing.
- Citations must conform to the Bluebook (21st Edition).
- Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal.
- A covering letter and a plagiarism report (maximum 10% similarity) must accompany the submission.
- A maximum of two authors is permitted per submission.
- All manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer-review process.
