The Benjamin Bailey Chair instituted at Mahatma Gandhi University is all set to start functioning. The formal inauguration will be done by Hon. Minister for Cooperation, Ports and Devaswom, Shri. V. N. Vasavan, on Tuesday, October 28, at the Educational Theatre, C.M.S. College, Kottayam.
Prof. (Dr.) C. T. Aravindakumar, Vice-Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi University, will preside over the event.
Prof. M. V. Narayanan, former Vice-Chancellor, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, will deliver a keynote address on “Theoretical Frameworks and Translation: Challenges Faced by Malayalis.”
As part of the programme, the document paper of the ‘Awareness Initiative on the Cultural Contributions of Benjamin Bailey’, jointly organized by the Benjamin Bailey Chair and the P.G. Department of History, C.M.S. College, will be released by Mr. Jose Panachippuram, Editorial Director, Malayala Manorama.
Dr. Babu Cherian (Chair Professor, Benjamin Bailey Chair), Dr. Anju Soshan George (Principal, C.M.S. College), Dr. Rohith P. (Coordinator, Benjamin Bailey Chair), and Dr. Vijo Thomas Kurian (Joint Coordinator) will also address the gathering.
