Seven-day drone flight training: DGCA approved certification

Mahatma Gandhi University is now accepting applications for small category drone pilot training approved by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. The one week course is conducted by Dr. R Satheesh Centre for Remote Sensing and GIS , School of Environmental Sciences with the technical cooperation of Asia Softlab. The first batch will start in April.
 
Asiasoft Lab, which is currently conducting courses in association with R Satheesh Centre, has recently received the approval of the Ministry of Civil Aviation. It is the first accredited pilot training institute in the state to be affiliated with a university.
 
Vice Chancellor Dr. C.T Arvindakumar highlighted the significance of the course , emphasising its potential to create new employment opportunities for the younger generation. Beyond traditional aviation roles, he pointed out the diverse applications of drones in industries , agriculture, surveying, disaster management, and more.
 
The course encompasses both theoretical and practical aspects of drone technology. In addition to hands-on drone piloting skills, participants have the chance to gain knowledge in drone assembling, maintenance, and familiarisation with relevant regulations. Upon successful completion of the training programme, participants will be awarded an approved remote pilot licence.
