Mahatma Gandhi University is launching two new certificate programmes in drone  technology  under Dr. R Satheesh Centre for Remote Sensing and GIS, School of Environmental Sciences.  Drones have sparked a revolution in data collection among numerous sectors. Their ability to capture high-resolution images and videos from unique aerial perspectives in fields range from agriculture and construction to environmental monitoring and beyond .

MGU’s Drone Data Processing programme allows students to learn the subtleties of data processing using drone footage. This comprehensive curriculum covers critical topics such as photogrammetry, light detection and ranging (LiDAR), processing methodology, basic drone flying and policy, 3D modeling etc.  providing a holistic understanding of the modern techniques and technologies required for effective drone data processing.

Those who have Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or Remote Piloting Certificate are eligible to apply.

The Drone Repair and Maintenance programme imparts students with the theoretical insights and hands-on skills essential for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing diverse drone models. Meticulously designed, it strategically empowers students for careers in the specialised field of drone repair and maintenance by combining theoretical knowledge with practical expertise.

Applicants aged 18 and above who have SSLC  or a Remote Piloting Licence are eligible to join the programme spanning a duration of one month.
