Mahatma Gandhi University has launched initiatives to foster entrepreneurship among students as part of its Honours Degree Programmes. Under the auspices of the University’s Business Innovation and Incubation Centre, a five-day workshop was organised in connection with the Honours degree and entrepreneurship programme, with additional activities aimed at nurturing students as prospective employers.
The system is a partnership between the University, BIIC, colleges, and industry bodies to support students in developing entrepreneurial ideas. Thirty teachers from various colleges participated in the programme, organised in collaboration with the State Higher Education Council, Kerala Startup Mission, and University College Development Council. These teachers will coordinate activities at the college level.
Former Chief Secretary T.K. Jose, KSIDC Director Dr. S. Harikishore, Rubber Park Managing Director George V. James, and American educationist Prof. Sunny Luke delivered talks on different days at the programme. J. Franklin, representing Israeli Nobel laureate in Chemistry Ada E. Yonath, participated online. Further activities will be undertaken taking into consideration the suggestions presented by experts during the workshop,” Dr. E.K. Radhakrishnan, Director of BIIC said.
Vice Chancellor Dr. C.T Aravindakumar inaugurated the workshop. Syndicate member Dr. A.S Sumesh, Dr. K. Jayachandran, Director of College Development Council Dr PR Biju, Dr. E.K Radhakrishnan, Dr. C. Chandana, Abin John Varghese, M. Nidheesh and Jubin Taj , among others, participated.
