Mahatma Gandhi University, which has established a pioneering model in business innovation and incubation, has received recognition from the Kerala Startup Mission for its outstanding performance in this field. During the IEDC Summit held in Thiruvananthapuram, Dr. Saji Gopinath, Vice-Chancellor of Kerala Technical University, presented a memento to Dr. Rahakrishnan E.K, the Director of the Business Innovation and Incubation Centre at MGU.
The summit commended the business incubation activities conducted by the BIIC, which received financial support from the Kerala Startup Mission, and noted their remarkable success.
The BIIC has successfully completed 24 research projects with a grant of 1 crore rupees from the KSUM within a span of nine months. As a result, eight startups have been launched based on the outcomes of these projects. Additionally, six findings are currently in the process of securing patents, and eight research outputs will be transferred to the industrial sector.
