MG University offers free education to the students of landslide-affected areas of Wayanad

Mahatma Gandhi University has announced a significant initiative to support students affected by the recent landslides in Wayanad district. In its inaugural meeting, the new Syndicate of the University decided to offer free education to these students, removing financial barriers and enabling them to continue their academic pursuits.Affected students will have the opportunity to enrol in various departments or affiliated colleges based on their qualifications and interests. Additionally, for those who lost their academic certificates in the disaster, the University, in conjunction with its affiliated colleges, will facilitate the timely replacement of these documents.Beyond offering educational support, the University will play a crucial role in the community’s recovery. Various departments will join forces in the resettlement efforts, with faculty, researchers, and students coming together to lend a helping hand, ensuring that the communities recover from the disaster’s impact.

The Syndicate meeting presided over by Vice Chancellor Dr. C.T. Aravindakumar also decided to expedite the establishment of a new Sports Directorate at the University. This Directorate aims at the University- level coordination of the sports activities across affiliated colleges. Additionally, the Syndicate has decided to award grace marks to professional college students who earn an ‘A’ grade in individual or group events at University-level festivals.

Suja (Academic Affairs),Dr.Jogy Alex (Examinations) and Prof. Dr. Biju Thomas (Student Discipline).
