KR Narayanan Chair Hosts Lecture on Vernacular Healing

Mahatma Gandhi University will host a lecture titled “Epistemology of the Disease: Practice as History and Technique as Knowledge in Vernacular Healing” on 14th January 2025, at 2 PM, at the School of Social Sciences. Organised as part of the KR Narayanan Chair for Human Rights and Social Justice Lecture Series, the session will be delivered by Dr. K.S. Sreenath, a UK-based academic known for his work in performance studies, critical and cultural studies.
 
Dr. Sreenath has held several academic positions, including Senior Lectureship at the University of Lincoln, UK; Leverhulme International Fellowship at New York University, USA; and Fellowship at the Higher Education Academy, UK.
 
In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Sreenath is a Malayalam playwright and performance maker, as well as the editor of the Indian Theatre Journal, published from the UK.
