The first AKRUTI Centre of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) is set to launch at Mahatma Gandhi University. Dr. S. Adhikari, Director, Knowledge Management Group, BARC and University Registrar Dr. Bismi Gopalakrishnan formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding this. The event was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Dr. C.T. Aravindakumar.
The AKRUTI Centre will pave the way for major changes, said Dr. Adhikari . The initiative aims to make innovative scientific and technological advancements accessible to the public, particularly to foster progress in rural areas. The centre’s activities will be facilitated through the University’s Business Innovation and Incubation Centre (BIIC).The AKRUTI Centre will provide 12 cutting-edge technologies at affordable costs focusing on areas such as agriculture, waste management, clean water supply, and food processing. These eco-friendly technologies aim to promote rural development while ensuring environmental sustainability.
The signing ceremony was attended by Syndicate members Adv. Reji Zachariah, Dr. Joji Alex, and Dr. A.S. Sumesh, Daniel Babu, Head, Technology Transfer and Collaboration Unit, BARC, Dr. E.K. Radhakrishnan,Director, Business Innovation and Incubation Centre, Bharati A., Group Leader, Akriti Group, BARC, and Bhale Rao.
