Innovations in food safety: GIAN online course ensuring safety of Indian food supply

Mahatma Gandhi University is proud to announce an upcoming online course on ‘Microbial Modeling of Pathogens in Foods and USDA -Pathogen Modeling Programme’s Applications in Ensuring Safety of Indian Food Supply’, an esteemed initiative for global academic advancement under the patronage of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development. The workshop’s main goal is to give the attendees a thorough understanding of microbial modeling software effectively, especially in producing accurate estimates concerning the growth, survival, and impact of processing environments on foodborne pathogens.

The course will be offered as per the norms set by the GIAN Programme, and is scheduled to take place from March 18 to 22, 2024. It combines both lectures and hands-on tutorials, guided by the international faculty, Dr. Vijay Juneja, a Lead Scientist of a research project on Predictive Microbiology at the Eastern Regional Research Centre, USA, and Dr. Jisha M S, Professor at the School of Biosciences and the Course Coordinator of the National Institute of Plant Science and Technology, MGU. In addition, other renowned educators will also deliver courses covering various subjects, offering participants a diverse and comprehensive learning experience regarding microbiological safety issues.
