Inauguration of MGUIF – Technology Business Incubation Facilities and Career Hub
 
The MGU’s Innovation Foundation aims to cultivate entrepreneurial interest in youth and bring business ideas to a creative end with the help of modern science and technology. Higher Education Minister R Bindu inaugurated the foundation on 09/05/2022. The system features incubation facilities with physical infrastructure, technical systems and incubators, expert support to guide entrepreneurs, business planning support, entrepreneurship training programmes and industry partnership projects. It has been set up as a part of the Union ministry of education’s Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) 2.0. The foundation is equipped with the best facilities like incubators, labs, co-working space and related facilities needed for a startup to get off the starting blocks successfully.
The aim is to create an innovation ecosystem to support innovative ideas of students and other innovators to be transformed into commercial products beneficial to the society. MGU Innovation Foundation houses incubation in various core areas that would provide a new and emerging technology and compatible businesses in the field of scientific core cloud computing (Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, IoT, Mobile and Web Apps etc.), Science and Engineering fields especially Automobile, Mechatronics, Robotics, Nano-Technology, Bioinformatics and Drug Design etc. as a physical and/or virtual unit that extends various forms of support for Start-ups to become “MGU Incubated Companies”. Some of these companies may be founded based in part or in full on technologies/IP developed by the MGU Innovation Foundation/ University, or jointly with it in collaborative mode. MGU may also provide incubation support to external start-ups with which Faculty / Staff / Researchers / Scholars / Students etc.are associated as consultants or mentor
 
 MGU online exam centre
 
The Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, is all set to launch a state-of -the-art online examination centre on its campus for conducting examinations of its various online courses.
 The primary objective of the centre is to conduct examinations of various online short-term and skill development programmes under the Directorate for Applied Short Term Programs (DASP) in the varsity, it can be be used for conducting online examinations by the other study departments as well.
Cooperation Minister V. N. Vasavan inaugurated the centre. It is established with the technical assistance of ITI Limited in Palakkad, the centre harnesses solar power for its operations.
