Harnessing AI’s creative potential in education – Prof. Achut Sankar S Nair

Renowned educational expert and  former Head of the Department of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics at Kerala University, Prof. Achut Sankar S. Nair emphasised the urgent need to leverage advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence in the field of education. He was giving a lecture at Mahatma Gandhi University on a   thought-provoking lecture on ‘Assessment and Evaluation in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.’

“A future where humans and technology coexist is imminent. Considering artificial intelligence’s potential, fundamental changes will be necessary in the education sector’s assessment processes. Many existing assessment methods will soon become irrelevant ,” he said.

The University’s Internal Quality Assurance Cell hosted an event to launch the book ‘Outcome-Based Education’, authored by Prof. Sajimon Abraham, Prof. Sajna Jaleel, and T.G. Geethu. The book was formally released by Vice Chancellor Dr. C.T. Aravindakumar, who presented a copy to Achuth Sankar S. Nair.

The Vice Chancellor presided over the function, which was attended by IQAC Director Dr. Robinet Jacob, Syndicate Member Prof. Beena Mathew, Infinity Indica Publishers’ CEO Aditya Shankar, and faculty members from the  departments.
