Global fusion: Students from 31 nations united in cultural celebration

MG University became a vibrant platform for international students to celebrate their grand and colourful cultural diversity. With pride in their heritage, students from 31 countries, spanning from India to Colombia, shared their unique traditions, art forms, and even served traditional dishes from their homelands. Students from various academic departments within the University, as well as from affiliated colleges and educational institutions statewide, took part in the event.

The event was organised by the Centre for International Co-operation (UCIC) in line with the cultural exchange initiatives of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). It featured students from countries including Eswatini, Senegal, Zambia, Afghanistan, Colombia, Madagascar, Uganda, Indonesia, Rwanda, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Burundi, Togo, Namibia, Nigeria, South Sudan, Malawi, Mauritius, Iraq, Mali, Bangladesh, Botswana, Iran, Tanzania, Lesotho, Vietnam, Nepal, Chad, Ethiopia, and Yemen. Indian student representatives also graced the occasion.

The ceremony, chaired by Dr. Sajimon Abraham, Director of UCIC, highlighted a keynote address by Dr. Robinet Jacob, Director of IQAC. Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Regional Director of ICCR, engaged with students virtually. Dr. Tony K. Thomas, Director of the School of Tourism Studies, and Prof. Sajna Jaleel, were also present.
