Enhancing the fuel efficiency: MGU researchers secure patent

Researchers at MG University have achieved a remarkable feat by securing an Indian patent for their innovative tyre research. This innovation focuses on reducing tyre weight, minimising road friction, ultimately enhancing vehicle fuel efficiency.

The new technology  replaces the conventional petroleum-based carbon black with a blend of natural graphite compound, graphene oxide and nano-silica, integrated into natural rubber.

The research underscores the dedication of the Chemical Science researchers,V. Prajitha and K.P. Jibin, under the guidance of Prof. Sabu Thomas and Prof. Nandakumar Kalarickal, which is a groundbreaking advancement within the realm of Chemical Sciences. Prajitha is a native of Kuthannur in Palakkad and Jibin is a native of Iritty in Kannur.
