Embracing innovation in disaster management; Training programme started

Mahatma Gandhi University has started a training programme that focuses on utilising advanced survey-mapping systems, including drones, in the field of disaster management. Vice Chancellor, Dr. C.T Aravindakumar inaugurated the training jointly organised by ISRO and the School of Environmental Sciences.He pointed out that the University’s advanced equipment and resources are instrumental in conducting  disaster relief operations. He added that the University’s commitment to excellence in organising disaster management training programmes of international standards has been unwavering. 
 
The training is organised as part of ISRO’s disaster relief assistance programme.  In the opening ceremony, Dr. Mahesh Mohan, Director, School of Environmental Sciences,  Dr. KR Baiju, Dean,  Dr. Ebin Varghese,Coordinator,  Dr. Krishnakumar and others participated. The training programme, scheduled to conclude on May 19, will be attended by a diverse group of professionals, including government officials, researchers, and individuals involved in disaster management.
