Mahatma Gandhi University is offering a unique opportunity for individuals to explore the field of drone technology and obtain certification from the Director General of Civil Aviation. The upcoming certificate course, set to commence in January 2024, is strategically crafted to empower students for prospective careers in science and technology.
Facilitated over 12 weeks, the programme focused on remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) is expertly designed and administered by Dr. R. Satheesh Centre for Remote Sensing and GIS at the School of Environmental Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.
Prospective applicants, aged between 18 and 60, possessing a degree or postgraduate qualification, are invited to apply for the course, with support from Asia Soft Lab Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of the S.G. Group in Malaysia.
This programme guarantees the participants, advanced skill development in drone-based technology, positioning them for diverse roles within the science and technology sectors, specifically in drone flying and applications.
The curriculum encompasses modules such as Drone Racing, Drone for Agriculture, Drone Data Processing and 3D Imaging, Drone Flight Planning and Operations, DGCA Certified RPAS Pilot Training, Drone Building, and Drone Applications in Mining, Urban, Environmental, Disaster Management, and Filmmaking.Those who successfully complete the training will be issued a drone pilot licence by the Director General of Civil Aviation.
