MGU has been ranked 95th among Asian universities and 4th among Indian universities by Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2023. The Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2023 use the same 13 performance indicators as the THE World University Rankings, but they are recalibrated to reflect the attributes of Asia’s institutions. The universities are judged across all their core missions – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook – to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons available. The 2023 ranking includes 669 universities from 31 territories.

The MGU was rated for the first time in the 100 and third time in the 200 best universities in Asia by the THE. As a state university, this is an outstanding achievement of the university.
