New Projects to Boost MGU’s Sporting Excellence: Minister V.N. Vasavan

The infrastructure development projects being undertaken by the State government in the sports sector will significantly strengthen Mahatma Gandhi University’s progress in this field, said V.N. Vasavan, Minister for Cooperation, Devaswom, and Ports. He was inaugurating a felicitation ceremony at the university honouring colleges and athletes who excelled in sports during the academic year 2023–24.
 
“Mahatma Gandhi University has achieved remarkable milestones in the field of sports since its inception. With the advent of modern training facilities, we can expect transformative changes in the near future,” the Minister noted.
 
Vice Chancellor Dr. C.T. Aravindakumar presided over the function. Former international athletes Shiny Wilson and Wilson Cherian were present as special guests.
 
Syndicate member Adv. Reji Zacharia delivered the keynote address. Other dignitaries in attendance included Syndicate members P. Harikrishnan, Dr. Biju Thomas, A.S. Sumesh, and Dr. T.V. Suja; University Registrar Dr. Bismi Gopalakrishnan; Controller of Examinations Dr. C.M. Sreejith; Director of the School of Physical Education and Sports Sciences Dr. Binu George Varghese; President of the Physical Education Teachers Association Jose Xavier; and K.K. Swathi.
