MGU Helps School Students Deepen Their Understanding of English

The three-week-long English language training programme organised by the School of Letters at Mahatma Gandhi University offered a new and enriching experience for school students. Designed as an outreach initiative, the programme targeted students from Classes 8 to 12, aiming to foster an interest in literature and enhance their communication skills in English.

Renowned film directors Dileesh Pothan and Siddharth Siva, along with poet Anie George, interacted with the students during the sessions. The programme sought to develop students’ proficiency in English while nurturing a lasting appreciation for literature.

The valedictory session featured a keynote address by Prof. K.M. Krishnan, Vaikom Muhammad Basheer Chair Professor at the university. Dr. Saji Mathew, Director of the School of Letters, presided over the function. Dr. Deepa Rachel Thomas and Dr. Lincy K. Thankappan also addressed the gathering.
