
Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) and the Indian Institute of Millet Research (IIMR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen their collaborative efforts in education and research. This landmark agreement was formalised by MGU Registrar Dr. Bismi Gopalakrishnan and IIMR Director Dr. Thara Satyavathi.
The online event marking the occasion was attended by MGU Vice-Chancellor Dr. C.T. Aravindakumar, IIMR Director Dr. R. Tara Satyavati, Students-HRM Committee Chairperson Dr. R. Sanjana, Nodal Officer Dr. J. Stanley, Principal Scientist Dr. B. Amasiddha, Dr. K.N. Ganapathy, MGU Research Director Dr. K. Jayachandran, School of Food Science and Technology Director Dr. M.S. Jisha, Coordinator Dr. Anuja Thomas, Dr. Linu M. Salim, Sajad Rahman, and K.J. Jismi.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. C.T. Aravindakumar emphasised that the collaboration with IIMR would provide numerous opportunities for students in Food Science and Technology. They will have access to IIMR’s laboratory facilities and the opportunity to engage with its experts. A joint research initiative on millet functional enhancement is currently underway between the two institutions at the School of Food Science and Technology.
