Mahatma Gandhi University will honour students who won medals in the All India Inter-University Sports Championships during the academic year 2023–24, along with colleges that demonstrated outstanding performance in the sports arena during the same period. The felicitation ceremony will be held on June 30.
V.N. Vasavan, Minister for Cooperation, Devaswom, and Ports, will inaugurate the event at 10:30 AM in the University Assembly Hall. Vice Chancellor Dr. C.T. Aravindakumar will preside over the function.
Former international athletes Shiny Wilson and Wilson Cheriyan will attend the event as special guests.
Adv. Reji Zacharia, Syndicate member, will deliver the keynote address. Other speakers include Syndicate members P. Harikrishnan, Dr. Biju Thomas, and Dr. Joji Alex; Dr. Bismi Gopalakrishnan, University Registrar; Dr. Binu George Varghese, Director of the School of Physical Education and Sports Sciences; M.S. Gautham, University Union Chairperson; Jose Xavier, President of the Physical Education Teachers Association; and K.K. Swathi.
