
Mahatma Gandhi University, in association with the Roy International Children’s Foundation, will host a three-day international conference titled “Towards a Sustainable Future: Scientists and Sages Meet” from 6th to 8th October 2025. The event is being organized under the Dr. Paulos Mar Gregorios Chair, in collaboration with the School of Gandhian Thought and Development Studies (SGTDS) and the School of Environmental Sciences (SES).
The conference coincides with significant milestones including the 42nd anniversary of the founding of Mahatma Gandhi University, 100 years of Mahatma Gandhi’s visit to Kerala, and the 156th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
The three-day event aims to bring together scientists, philosophers, artists, writers, research scholars, students, and environmental activists to explore ways of ensuring a just, peaceful, and sustainable future. Topics of discussion will range from Gandhian philosophy and eco-spirituality to technological advancements, climate change, and sustainable development.
Distinguished international and national speakers have confirmed their participation, including Dr. Satish Kumar (UK), Dr. Madayo Kahle (Spain), Dr. Paola Morley (Italy), Dr. Sabu Thomas (India), Dr. Chirakkuzhiyil Abhilash (India), and several others.
Authors and researchers are invited to submit abstracts of 200–250 words by 10th September 2025, with final papers due by 30th September 2025. Selected papers will be considered for publication as book chapters or journal articles.
