Dr. S. Anas wins Kairali Research Award

Dr. S. Anas, Associate Professor at the School of Chemical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, has been selected for the Kairali Research Award for 2022-23, established by the State Government to recognise excellence in research. Dr. Anas was chosen in the Chemical Science category, honouring research-oriented teachers. He will receive a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh, a citation, and a research grant of Rs. 24 lakhs for two years.

He currently serves as the Honorary Director of the Advanced Molecular Materials Research Centre and the Joint Director of the Institute for Integrated Programmes and Research in Basic Sciences at the University. A native of Kuthiathode in Alappuzha district, Dr. Anas has completed postdoctoral fellowships in Sweden and France.

With an impressive academic portfolio, Dr. Anas has published over 50 research papers and several book chapters internationally, authored a book, and holds a patent. Previously a member of the University Senate, he also serves on the Board of Studies at multiple colleges.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. C.T. Aravindakumar extended his congratulations to Dr. Anas on this remarkable achievement.
