The Department of Printing & Publishing(DPP) was established on 1 March 1988 to co-ordinate the publishing of educational textbooks, reference collections, and scholarly academic books and provide consultancy services in editorial, design and prodition works. The Department started functioning with the appointment of the Director on 4th October 1988. Since its inception, the Department has published hundreds of books comprising titles in English, Hindi and Malayalam. Besides publishing textbooks directly, the Department undertakes co-publishing of textbooks/academic books with reputed publishers like Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Mc Millan India etc. Currently, the Department is publishing language textbooks (Malayalam, Hindi and English) for the CBCSS students of the university on a co-publication basis.
University Bookstall
The Mahatma Gandhi University Books was opened as a single window outlet for the academic community to procure all textbooks and academic books published or co-published by the University and other commercial publications. The Bookstall housed in the Department of Students Services Building was inaugurated by Prof.Rajan Gurukkal, Vice Chancellor of M G University on 16th November 2009.
