Unnikrishnan Nair, Director of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in Thiruvananthapuram. He was delivering the P.K. Iyengar Memorial Lecture at Mahatma Gandhi University.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Space studies, a field that continues to evolve with time, offer immense potential for growth and exploration. Students are now actively involved in designing and launching satellites for various research purposes. ISRO provides guidance and support to students who come forward with innovative ideas. There should be a collective effort to realise such ideas, he said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr Nair elaborated on India\u2019s space research activities and also addressed questions from students.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The lecture was organised as a prelude to the Kerala Science Congress and was inaugurated by Prof. K.P. Sudheer, Executive Vice President of the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE). Vice-Chancellor Dr C.T. Aravindakumar presided over the function.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">University Registrar Dr Bismi Gopalakrishnan and KSCSTE Principal Scientist Dr Binuja Thomas also spoke at the event.
