The School has academic programmes in four broad divisions namely; 

  • Division of Inorganic Chemistry

  • Division of Organic Chemistry

  • Division of Physical Chemistry

  • Division of Polymer Science 

 Courses offered

  •  MSc  Chemistry (Inorganic, Organic, Physical Chemistry , Polymer Science-- 5 seats each)

          Eligibility: B.Sc Chemistry with Mathematics and Physics as subsidiaries with not less than 55% marks in part III

  •  MPhil (All Branches in Chemistry- - 3  seats each)

         Eligibility: M.Sc Chemistry with not less than 55% marks 

  • PhD (All Branches in Chemistry - Full time and part time) 
  • Integrated M.Sc  PhD in (a) Chemistry-9 seats (b) Chemical Physics-3 seats

             Duration: 6 years ( M.Sc -2 years and PhD 4 years)

            Eligibility: (a) B.Sc Chemistry with Mathematics and Physics as subsidiaries with not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in part III

                              (b) B.Sc Physics  with Mathematics and Chemistry  as subsidiaries with not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in part III

  •  M.Tech in Polymer Science and Technology (4 sem - 10 seats)

Eligibility:  B.Tech/B.E in Polymer Science and Technology/ Fibre Science and Technology/Rubber Technology/Plastic Technology/Chemical Engineering/Mechanical Engineeering/ Material Science/Chemical Technology with 60% or equivalent grade/ M.Sc in Chemistry / Polymer Science/Applied Chemistry  from a recognized institution with 65% or equivalent grade. Preference for candidates with valid GATE score.

Admission Procedure: The admission for the M.Sc and M.Phil. programs is based on an all round performance in a national level entrance examination , marks in the qualifying examination and a subject Interview. The admission for Ph.D. is based on a national level entrance examination or on NET/GATE performance.
